How to Get Rid of a Double Chin

Kybella is the only non-surgical, minimally-invasive, injectable treatment option for submental fat, commonly referred to as a “double chin.”

Submental fullness, a common cosmetic concern, can be seen in men and women and may be related to aging, weight gain, and genetics. Kybella, or deoxycholic acid, injection is approved by the FDA for the treatment of submental fullness or “double chin”.

With over 20 clinical studies supporting its use, and thousands of patients already treated, Kybella is a safe, effective, and well-researched treatment for submental fullness.

What is Kybella used for?

  • To eliminate submental fullness due to submental fat, eliminating the “double chin” look.

How many treatments are need it?

  • Usually 1 or 2 treatments are need it one month apart.

Is there any downtime?

Minimal swelling and bruising for one or few days that can be treated with Ice and arnica.

How the medication work? Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that breaks down dietary fat and aids in its absorption. Kybella is a synthetic version of deoxycholic acid. When injected into the fat underneath the skin, it causes destruction of fat cells.

The results are permanent as the fat cells are eliminated.

How this treatment compares with regular liposuction?

No scaring, no downtime or need to use elastic bandage for weeks. Less trauma to the tissue around and less chance of complications.

How is liposuction different from this?

Chin liposuction is little more invasive procedure, but there is permanent destruction of fat cells with only 1 treatment.

How is Ultherapy different from this?

Ultherapy is used for skin tightening and ideally is used in conjunction with Kybella for superior results.
