What is CO2 resurfacing?

CO2 laser resurfacing uses the power of carbon dioxide to evaporate several layers of the skin. These dermis layers had accumulated damage from the years, usually in the form of sun damage, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars. By removing these damaged layers, CO2 laser skin resurfacing helps to reveal the glowing skin that’s hiding underneath.

How many treatments are needed on average?

Most clients see final results within 6 months after their final Fraxel laser treatment that could last years as long as patients uses sunblock, stop smoking and heavily drinking alcohol.

What is the downtime of the treatment?

Patient will experience redness, slight swelling, and skin sensitivity for up to 5 to 7 days. non-ablative resurfacing works well for scars but is not great to tightening the skin. For CO2 resurfacing, it can be done as totally ablative for the best result. This can only be done in lighter skin tones, and there is a recovery time. It is the best laser for skin rejuvenation.

What’s the cost of the procedure?

On average each procedure starts at $1500. Usually 1 or 2 are necessary and results will last years.

Who’s the ideal candidate for fractional CO2 vs non ablative CO2?

Fractional lasers for younger patients who are active; are in the sun; have less time for recovery and Fully ablative CO2 laser resurfacing is reserved for those who have deep wrinkles and aging, are lighter skin, regularly wear make-up and are careful about the sun.
