Fibrin is a biological scaffold that forms in response to an injury anywhere in the body and platelets normally circulate within the blood and will bind to a scaffold of fibrin. When platelets bind to the scaffold, they become activated and release growth factors. These growth factors start the wound healing process by creating new skin cells and blood vessels and collagen. Scientists have been able to figure out a way to take your blood, spin it in a centrifuge, isolate the contents, and create a platelet- and white blood cell–rich fibrin scaffold ready for use in plastic surgery. The platelet-rich fibrin has been used to fill in facial folds, scaring, wound healing and better fat grafting
There's one key difference that could make PRF a more effective treatment it’s because it is completely natural and free of any additives. PRF releases the growth factors over time, which means it could have longer-term benefits. The growth factors are what stimulate the stem cells that improve collagen and elastin in the area that has been injected.
PRF is a fantastic addition to any medical spa since not only can be used in combination with fillers, but also with micro needling, laser resurfacing since it accelerates wound healing significantly.
In general one PRF is recommended every four to five months
PRF can be done on the scalp, face, neck, hands and any part of the body.
PRF is richer because contains growth factors, platelets, white blood cells, stem cells and fibrin clot; Also, PRF contains NO additives and NO anti coagulants and can act like a natural filler.
