How does it work?
We treat the face and parts of the neck, back, and chest affected by skin disorders such as acne, razor bumps, and post-inflammatory pigmentation using the Syneron Candela laser system. Controlled energy passes through the skin killing the bacteria that cause acne.
How effective is it this treatment?
Results vary from person to person. Right now, there’s no way to know who will see clearer skin and how much the skin will clear when treated with a laser.
To get results, most people need a series of treatments. Several studies have shown that multiple treatments deliver significantly better results than a single treatment.
What are the pre and post instructions?
- Do not use the following products 5 days before or 5 days after your treatment [or until pinkness and peeling has subsided): Retin-A, retinoids, or similar vitamin A compounds, harsh scrubs or exfoliating products and bleaching creams, unless instructed otherwise by your provider.
- Avoid tanning or prolonged sun exposure 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after treatment. Sun may cause adverse reactions.
What is the treatment’s timeframe?
- It takes time to see results. In studies, researchers continually find that patients see the best results weeks after the last treatment.
- Follow-up treatments may be necessary. Results from lasers and light therapies are generally long lasting. To maintain results, however, patients often need follow-up treatments once or twice a year.
