Platelet-Rich Plasma with Dermapen Microneedling in Miami, FL

Many of my patients are concerned with keeping their youthful appearance and good looks for as long as possible. Who isn’t? That’s been true for a millennium!

What some of you may not realize is that technology has teamed up in amazing ways. We now have tools to encourage and stimulate our own bodies to speed up repair, rejuvenation, and anti-aging processes.

HAVE YOU HEARD OF MICRO-NEEDLING WITH PRP?

I am sure you are, celebrities like Kim Kardashian uses this groundbreaking new therapy to keep her skin young and fresh.

These days, we do more with less. We have minimally invasive surgery, and nano-technology, and teeny little computers inside our tiny little cell phones and ear buds.

The same principle applies to the science of aging (or, more accurately– non-aging). The old ways of ‘going under the knife’ have gone the way of the dodo (i.e., extinct).

Now we use Micro-Needling combined with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy to produce better results with less down time, minimal scarring, and for lower cost.

Rather than trying to force the body to re-form, we use the body’s own natural growth patterns and processes to return to a more youthful image.

PLATELET RICH PLASMA WITH DERMAPEN MICRONEEDLING ON TV

Sometimes called a ‘vampire’ facial (that’s kind of a misleading nickname), Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy takes components from the patient’s own blood and infuse them into the skin through micro channels generated by micro-needling procedure.

Dermapen Microneedling

This Dermapen, which is really composed of multiple micro-needles, creates thousands of microscopic channels (called a ‘cascade’) through the skin.

The body quickly rushes to repair these infinitely small channels– by depositing collagen and elastin, by increasing blood flow to the area– and in the process restoring skin to its taut, youthful appearance.

The Magic of PRP

PRP has been used for decades for elite athletes recovering from surgery, where it is known to help wounds heal faster. PRP also improves the texture and color of skin, by encouraging the growth of new tissue.

The beauty of this treatment is that it doesn’t break down the epidermis (outer layer of the skin) so there is no scarring, and no down time. The body’s immune system simply goes to work repairing the perceived damage. All you see is fresher, younger, ‘glowier’ skin.

The answer to that question depends on you. Some women are annoyed by sagging flesh on the arms and legs, or in the neck area. For others, it’s a worn-looking face on a youthful body– which can betray their younger, biological age.

A close look in the mirror is all you need to see what the years can do to all of us. Subtle scars, broken capillaries, acne, tiny wrinkles . . . all combine to give the face and body a wan, aging appearance. On the legs and arms, you might see stretch marks or the dreaded dimples of cellulite.

If any of this describes your situation, the first step is to sit down with us at the clinic. We’ll have a talk about your concerns and your goals. I can usually tell within a few minutes which type of treatment would best meet your expectations.

In the case of micro-needling with PRP: either is an effective treatment, but they are both enhanced if you apply them together.

I can tell you from experience that there is little risk in this treatment. The micro-needles are ultra fine and thin– microscopic, really. And since we are applying plasma from your own blood, there is no auto-immune response (i.e., allergic reaction) to worry about.

Since this is considered maintenance therapy– not an invasive, major overhaul– you can schedule repeat visits once or twice a year. See how you feel after the first treatment session. If you decide this is for you, we can decide where to go from here. This might be just the look you’ve been looking for, just in time for spring!

PRP and Microneedling

Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment whereby a roller with fine needles is used to prick the skin. This treatment aid extra collagen production, which can help heal scars and reduce signs of aging.

The combination of Microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) involves using a roller with fine needles to prick the skin to make tiny holes on the skin and applying PRP into the tiny holes. PRP encourages collagen production and cell reproduction. Microneedling in combination with PRP is more effective for skin rejuvenation, and repair of skin tissues.

How much is Microneedling with PRP in Miami, FL?

The cost of microneedling with PRP varies depending on the location and provider. A typical microneedling session costs about $300. The combination of microneedling with PRP costs about $750 for a session. Most people need from 3-6 sessions, with one session done every month.

Is Microneedling with PRP safe?

Microneedling is a quick and safe procedure with little or no side effects. You may experience some soreness or tenderness in the treated area immediately after the treatment. You may also experience redness or bruising in the treated area which usually clears off after 4-5 days.

PRP is even a safer procedure because you are using your own blood. It is the platelet-rich plasma that is extracted from your blood that is applied to your skin.

If you are medically cleared by your dermatologist or skin specialist to undergo a microneedling with PRP treatment and if the treatment is done by a reputable skincare specialist, you will most likely not experience any side effects or complications

Is Microneedling with PRP permanent?

The results of Microneedling with PRP are long-lasting. When used to remove scars, sunspots, or wrinkles, the results are permanent unless new scars are formed or you continue to expose your skin to the sun without protection.

Is PRP better than Microneedling?

When PRP is combined with microneedling, the combined treatment is more effective than microneedling alone or PRP alone. The combination of the two treatments provides a vital foundation necessary for maximum absorption, reduced healing time and best results.

However, microneedling treatment is different from PRP treatment. Microneedling is also called collagen induction therapy. It involves rolling a roller with tiny needles over the skin to create very tiny invisible holes.

The creation of these tiny holes or wounds on the skin makes the skin to naturally respond by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin growth for skin renewal and rejuvenation.

Microneedling can be used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, minimize pore size, improve acne scars, tighten the skin, improve hyper-pigmentation, and reduce burn scars.

PRP on the other hand also stimulates collagen and elastin production. It helps to thicken and tighten thinning skin, smooth wrinkles and fine lines. It improves overall skin texture and tone. It provides total skin rejuvenation. PRP treatment is great for people who suffer from rosacea or acne.

PRP treatment involves injecting a person’s own platelet-rich plasma to rejuvenate the skin.

PRP and Microneedling treatments complement each other. They are commonly paired together and they work best when both treatments are combined.

Can you exercise after PRP injections?

It is advised that you don’t engage in any exercises for the first week after receiving a PRP injection. This is because at early stage, the platelets are just beginning to attach properly and if you work out at early stage, the platelets may not attach, rendering the treatment ineffective.

Can Microneedling make skin worse?

If there are active legions on the surface of your skin, microneedling might make them worse. Also, microneedling can spread bacteria on the surface of your skin and make breakouts worse.

Ensure that your skin is properly and thoroughly cleaned before commencing micro-needling treatment.

How many sessions of Microneedling do you need?

Microneedling treatment can be safely repeated every four to six weeks as needed. The type of skin condition you are treating will determine the number of sessions you need. You need at least three sessions for collagen induction.

You need between three to six sessions for scar reduction. Ensure that you undergo each session after four to six weeks. Consult with your dermatologist or skincare specialist to know the exact number of sessions you will need for your skin condition.
